That girl in black.... and other fashion colors

You've heard about her. Most likely you've even seen her. I hear she gets around.

Timing is everything

Not only am I sitting here, trying to think of something clever to write...

But I realize the "grabbing hands" song by Depeche Mode is playing, while reading about Ali's cell phone being stolen, after talking to Camille about her bank card being stolen. By the hospital staff! Oh, and they made her effin more sick WHILE she was being financially taken advantage of. That is probably the part that burns me more than anything.

You have to love "two for" Tuesdays... the next Depeche Mode song? "I Just Can't Get Enough". sheesh! I should just give up now and go to bed.

But there is still packing to do, monsters to retrieve from his daddy's, and recycling to drop off. Lord, please let us enjoy this trip to Seattle. It is our family vacation for the year. As well as Bubba's trip down the matrimonial aisle. It's about time!

Hopefully this time next week there will be a glowing report and fun pics to share!

How many more days until full moon?

Usually I'm in no hurry for the full moon to ebb. The weirdness leading up to the one FULL moon night is usually the air I breathe. This month, it is different.

You have to wonder about the stability of the universe when I'm the normal-looking one of the bunch. Most people don't realize how difficult acting a responsible adult really is. At least it is for this punk-rock girl that would rather tell the corporate drones to bugger off and go outside for a smoke. There has a to be a rock band bar somewhere calling my name. Oh wait.. we're in the middle of red-state BFE. Don't hold your breath.

I'm just tense. We're really for Seattle, just waiting for the days to pass. Now with less than a week to go, AW is giving us a medical scare. Nothing unmanageable, but of course it throws me into a tizzy... "I should be there, but I have to work, I have a CM class, Monster's got soccer..." My closest girlfriends are stressed about something or another. That makes me worry for them.

I'm also twerked with my stylist for trimming my hair too short this weekend. What was she thinking? I know, it's just hair. But I haven't been letting it grow for five years, and paying good money to maintain it the last several months for her to go all snip-happy on me. A week before a major trip! Oy.

I obviously need more ice cream. The first round hasn't kicked in, or didn't have enough Magic Shell coating. See y'all later.

Ok... I *really* am trying not to smile

But c'mon, guys.... you have to agree there ARE people out there that deserve to be miserable. At least one day for every year of grief they hand out.

Today was a pretty good day. Started off by stuffing a former state employee know-it-all back into her white trash compactor. The dumb bimbo couldn't resist a parting shot that will come back to bite her on the butt... telling the hearing officer her boss was available today, but he thoguht it was a better use of his time to have lunch with the governor, than defend his appeal. Bwahahahaha!

Also don't feel too sorry for Dr. Feelgood in Wichita. He deserves any amount of federal charges they bring against him. One could justifiably believe that he's only a physician for the money.

Enough, already!

The last few days remind me of a quote from Steven Cojocaru, talking about his failed kidney transplant: "I remember dropping to my knees, throwing my hands to the heavens...saying "enough with the character building already! I get it, I'm deep!"

Tonight's jaunt to KC for a CM training was not worth the money I had to pay out. Even though my mentor was kind enough to pay for the registration. I don't remember ever spending $30.00 for a trip to KC that didn't include a bar stop. Talk about inconsiderate! Our unit leader did just as effective a training weeks ago.

This after a day of the cheerleaders fighting at work. Although no one should have had to endure the pathetic conditions in New Orleans.. when does common sense overcome emotional reaction? Andy wrote an amazing article of insight (natch, he's a writer). Go read it at www.alefko.blogspot.com

And lastly, a sad farewell to a girl taken before her time. A girl that some of us grew up with, since we've known her mother for so long. We found out that a co-worker's daughter was murdered Tuesday night in Colorado Springs. By her boyfriend of several years, and the father of her 22-month old child. In her own home. And the baby left in the apartment. It makes my stomach hurt, just thinking about it.

It also doesn't help that I'm freaking PMS-ing!

You think you don't need no stinkin' badgers!

But you need me! According to Blue Pyramid, I'm a badger. It is true I don't care for snakes. And I'm sure I'm quite entertaining, bouncing up and down. Someone shield the children!

To you, very little in this world is in shades of gray... it's either black or white. Far from making this decide for one or the other for yourself, you choose to delve into a little bit of both, which makes you a daunting and even menacing figure to some. Nonetheless, people like you keep being depicted as wise and heroic figures in children's literature. You love bouncing up and down and have a fondness for mushrooms, but are horrified by snakes.

You can't buy class

Interpreted quote from a former first lady, and mother to the current president:

"Oh, these catastrophe victims? Well, they were poor (underprivileged) to begin with. So they are grateful for any amount of shelter, no matter how inhumane or insecure. They aren't used to anything more, and seem to be adapting quite well."

WHAT?!??! Apparently Barbara baby has never had to go a day without plumbing or electricity. Much less have to worry about eating sanitary food or being personally vulnerable. I don't care what color the sun is in that woman's world... that was rude. And dumb, too. She *knew* her every word was being recorded by the media.

Oh, and it wasn't like I could have interpreted just a written record of her quote. I had benefit of hearing her arrogance recorded on tape. The media will have a field day with this. If the freaking Democratic party doesn't wake up and generate a candidate that can breathe and walk at the same time, they are total imbeciles. Good lord, people!

Beyond the fact that we know for certain when Bush will be out of office, we can only hope most of his buddies will be run out of town as well. The FEMA chief should be looking for another job, as well as anyone affiliated with Homeland Security. Not to discredit all the swine centerfolds out there... but the administration has been, you know, as worthless as tits on a boar.

PS: and my conspiracy paranoia is convinced the whole gas thing is a ruse. It is not a coincidence that we have an administration that got rich on oil in office while petroleum prices keep rising. Not that I'm saying anyone is responsible... I'm just saying.

I'm gettin' to it

I really am sending out CDs to all ya'll Holts that did the picture thing. Aunt Peg liked the book a lot. It was great to be able to give it to her.

D's off camping this weekend in OKC. I'm being a good girl and cleaning. Just until tomorrow, though. Then I get to go and play with Donna in Lawrence for the day. I'm hoping we'll join up with my bestest bud Margerite(a). Woohoo!

After three days

.. both fish and company begin to smell.

Back from Phoenix. Back to work today. It was a productive trip. Great-auntie is doing well, much better than I had feared. It was a delightful time to spend with them. Cousin Mark's house is ROCKIN'! And I love their Ashley doggie! She is the size of a small horse. But so attractive and sweet.

And other than a fender-bender, it was a great time away. The best advice I got the whole trip: buy the car rental company's liability insurance. Even though some local pulled into me, and left the scene of the accident, I didn't have to pay anything. It's a good thing I have a long weekend ahead.
