It's Been a Long Winter...

I realized the other day, it had been awhile since I bought new music. And now the clouds have parted, sun shines down from above... are angels singing? As well they should!

Fear not, I have no illusions for the Everclear cover album. I buy it more for loyalty and sentimental reasons. Though I do like their rendition of Hall and Oates' "Rich Girl". EC used to always play "American Girl" as an encore song back in the late 90's. I liked Craig's lead vocals on "Sin City" better.

The Gnarls Barkley album however, glee! I listened to it on MSN earlier, and loved all of it. And the Femmes is simply a shout out to my school days. Last fall, I bought a compilation album that included live versions of the first album. But they just didn't carry the appropriate degree of angst, I guess.

And I'm hoping the rerelease might boost the CD audio level. It's a bit tortuous to listen to my older CDs on the iPod with newer CDs. Older ones are so echo-y and quieter than the new technology. It makes me fiddle with volume more, or hurt my ears if I don't turn it down before the song shuffle.
